  • 1 cup Whole wheat flour (Chapati atta)
  • ½ teaspoon Baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Green cardamom seeds powder
  • 6 tablespoons Ghee (Clarified butter) in the semi-solid form
  • ⅓ cup Powdered sugar (icing sugar)
  • 1 ½ tablespoon Milk

Preparation

  1. Firstly, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Then, line a baking tray or cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  3. You can also lightly grease it with butter or ghee.
  4. Now, take whole wheat flour, baking powder, and cardamom powder in a bowl.
  5. Mix them well with the help of a whisk or a spoon.
  6. Take another bowl, and add take ghee.
  7. Ensure that ghee is in semi-solid form, not fully melted.
  8. Now add powdered sugar to it.
  9. Beat it using a wired whisk till it is smooth, creamy, and light.
  10. Next, add the prepared flour mixture.
  11. Now using a spatula, mix it well.
  12. It will start to look crumbly.
  13. Now add milk, start with a half tablespoon.
  14. Start mixing it, using your hands.
  15. if needed, you can use more milk
  16. Add only enough milk, so it comes together like dough.
  17. Now shape it like balls and then flatten it slightly.
  18. Finally, bake in the preheated oven for 20-22 minutes. Remove the tray from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes in the tray itself.
  19. Then remove them on a cooling rack and let them cool down completely.

Nankhatai recipe is ready to serve. Serve with tea or coffee and enjoy in the evening.
