Ingredients

Veg Burger

For Patty

  • 1 tsp oil
  • ½ tbsp butter
  • ½ tbsp ginger, chopped
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 12-15 French beans, chopped
  • 1 winter carrot, chopped
  • 2-3 large potato, boiled and mashed
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ¼ garam masala
  • ½ tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste

For Batter

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • Water as required
  • Salt to taste

For Breadcrumbs Coating

  • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 2-3 tbsp poha

For Shallow Fry Tikki

  • ½ tbsp oil
  • ½ tbsp butter

For Roasting Burger Buns

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • For veg burger toppings
  • 4 sesame burger buns
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 4-5 lettuce leaves
  • 1 small to medium tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1 small to medium onion, thinly sliced, grilled
  • 2 cheese slice
  • 2-3 black or green olives

For Serving

  • Mayonnaise
  • French fries

Method

Veg Burger

For Batter

  1. In a bowl, add all-purpose flour, salt and water, mix it well to make a slurry.

For breadcrumbs coating

  1. In a bowl, add fresh breadcrumbs and crushed poha and mix well.

For Tikki

  1. Take a pan to add oil, butter, chopped ginger, green chilli and sauté well.
  2. Add chopped vegetables and sauté until they soften.
  3. Add mashed potatoes and mix them, then add red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt, ginger garlic paste and mix properly.
  4. Now add chopped coriander and mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the bowl and refrigerate it for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove the mixture from the refrigerator and make tikkis of it.
  7. Give shape to the Tikki with a cookie cutter or with your hands.
  8. Now take 1 Tikki, firstly coat it with slurry and then coat it well with the bread crumbs.

For Shallow Fry Tikki

  1. Take a shallow frying pan, add some oil and fry the Tikki till golden brown colour and crisp.

For Roasting Burger Buns

  1. Cut the buns into half.
  2. Take a pan and toast buns until a light brown colour.
  3. Now on the same pan, add butter and onion rings and grill it.

 For Veg Burger Topping

  1. Take the base of the bun and spread mayonnaise on it.
  2. Now place lettuce on it and sprinkle some salt.
  3. Then place tomato and sprinkle salt again and pepper.
  4. Place the Tikki on it and the grilled onions.
  5. Then again add some more mayonnaise on top and place a cheese slice over it.
  6. Now close the burger with the top bun.
  7. Insert toothpick with olive.

The veg burger is ready; Serve it with French fries, mayonnaise and a cold drink.
