Are you a vegetarian, who wants to eat a hot dog but couldn’t because it has non-vegetarian ingredients? Then don’t worry, today the Karth Food Factory is presenting the quick and easy veg hot dog recipe for you. A hot dog is a food that contains a grilled sausage, served in a split bun.
Generally, the sausages are made with pork meat but in 1949 the first veg hot dog was introduced and in the year 2000, the first veg hot dog was sold at the Chicago White Sox’s Comiskey Park. Hot dog’s origin is always linked with the USA, it is true but it is its modern version. The real version was originated in Frankfurt, Germany.
In this recipe, the sausage is made with cottage cheese and soy mince and it also contains lesser calories compared to the non-veg one. It was all about the hot dog and now let’s moves on to its recipe.

Ingredients
For Hot Dog Sauce
- 1½ tbsp refined oil
- 2 medium onion, sliced
- 1 tsp ginger, chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic, chopped
- Salt to taste
- ½ tsp degi red chilli powder
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- 8-10 Kashmiri dry red chillies, soaked
- 2 tbsp sugar
- Water
- 3 tbsp tomato ketchup
For Filling
- ½ cup paneer
- 1 tsp garlic, chopped
- 2 tbsp oil
- ½ cup soya vadi powder
- 1 tsp ginger, chopped
- ½ cup capsicum, diced
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves
- ½ cup prepared sauce
- 1½ cup soya minced, soaked
For Assembling Hot Dog
- 1 tbsp prepared sauce
- 2-4 hot dog buns
- 1 tbsp veg mayonnaise
- ¼ cup cheese, grated
- 1 tsp butter
Method
For Hot Dog Sauce
- Heat oil in heavy bottom pan for making hot dog, add ginger, garlic, onion and sauté it until golden brown.
- Then add tomatoes and cook until tender and add salt, degi red chilli powder, vinegar and cook until the smell of the vinegar evaporates.
- Now add sugar, soaked Kashmiri dry red chillies, and water and tomato ketchup. Mix everything properly and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Transfer it into a bowl and blend it with a hand blender and keep it aside for future use.
For Filling
- Heat oil in a pan. After that, add ginger, garlic and capsicum and roast it until charred.
- Now add soya vadi powder, sauté it and then add soaked soya mince, paneer, roast it and mix it well.
- Then add the prepared sauce and mix properly.
- Lastly, add some fresh coriander leaves and let them cool.
For Assembling Hot Dog
- Take some filling and shape it like a sausage and keep it aside.
- Then cut the hot dog bun and apply mayonnaise, prepared hot dog sauce in it.
- Now heat butter in a flat pan and place the sausages and cook it until light brown on the outer side.
- In the same pan, heat the bun on both sides for a minute.
- After that, take a bun and place the sausage in it, apply hot dog sauce and finally sprinkle the grated cheese on it.
