Bottle gourd, commonly known as lauki is one of the vegetables which can be found in any season, and Indians being so fond of sweets, love to include lauki in their sweets too, like lauki ka halwa.

Ingredient

  • 4 tablespoons ghee
  • 2 cups tightly packed, grated lauki
  • 500 ml of milk
  • 7-8 tablespoons sugar
  • 5-6 green cardamoms, crushed
  • 3-4 tablespoons, chopped almonds, cashews, and pistachios
  • 1 tablespoon raisin

Preparation For Lauki Ka Halwa

  1. Start by peeling and grating the lauki.
  2. Now, heat the ghee in a pan on medium flame and add lauki to it.
  3. Saute lauki until the moisture is all dried up.
  4. Next, add 2 cups of full-fat milk and mix it really well.
  5. The milk will start boiling, so keep stirring until ¾ of the milk has reduced and absorbed.
  6. Add sugar and chopped nuts and mix well.

The halwa will gradually start thickening, and there would not be any liquid left. Switch off the flame, then.
